Dhaka, September 4, 2026: BRAC University Pharma Society (BUPS) and the School of Pharmacy (SoP) successfully organized an insightful seminar titled “Understanding Oncology: Essential Knowledge for Future Pharmacists” on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Lecture Theatre of BRAC University.
The seminar was organized to enhance students’ understanding of oncology and raise awareness about cancer prevention, treatment, pharmaceutical research, and the evolving role of pharmacists in cancer care. Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Limited (SK+F) sponsored the event.
BRAC University Registrar Dr. David Dowland attended the seminar and shared alarming information about the growing global burden of cancer. He emphasized the importance of increasing public awareness and taking effective preventive measures to address the rising impact of cancer worldwide.
The keynote session was delivered by Prof. (Brig Gen) Dr. Md. Quadrat-E-Elahi, who provided students with valuable insights into oncology. The speaker also emphasized the growing responsibilities of pharmacists in advancing research and development of innovative medicines and therapies for cancer treatment.
