“Without hospital and clinical pharmacists, health services are incomplete”.

World Health Day is being observed globally today, 7 April, as every year. The day was initiated following the First World Health Assembly held in 1948 by the World Health Organization (WHO), and since then it has been celebrated to raise awareness about global health issues.
On this significant occasion, Bangladesh Pharmacists Forum (BPF) extends its sincere greetings and best wishes to all healthcare professionals, policymakers, and the general public.
BPF believes that an effective and modern healthcare system cannot be complete without the presence of hospital and clinical pharmacists. Ensuring safe and rational use of medicines is not possible without skilled pharmacists. Coordinated efforts among physicians, nurses, and pharmacists are essential to ensure proper patient care.
Md. Azibur Rahman says, “The inclusion of hospital and clinical pharmacists in government hospitals, as well as in all healthcare facilities across the country, is now a demand of time. Without hospital and clinical pharmacists, the healthcare system can never be complete. Their active role is crucial in ensuring patient safety and effective treatment.”
In the current context, the recruitment and proper integration of clinical pharmacists in hospitals will enhance patient safety, reduce misuse of medicines, and improve the overall quality of healthcare services.
Bangladesh Pharmacists Forum calls upon all concerned authorities to ensure proper recognition and inclusion of pharmacists in the national healthcare system.
